I'm gay, I just got a new job offer in my home state.

Not sure what being gay has to do with sexuality.

By the way, personally I'm against being proud for either orientation. Your measure of self worth should come from who you are not from what group you belong to. That is just another form of tribalism.
I had no idea Canadians were so prejudiced.
Who knew?

I guess this is my question (and I mean this in a positive, not critical way)--if you're straight, and a gay person thinks you're gay because of your position, are you worried that they'll find you attractive?
So what, "they" think you're attractive? What's the big deal?

Ever hear of "thanks but no thanks?"

And that's what i said? Is there a problem, or are you just randomly crabby tonight? I asked the question to see if the Op felt threatened--some kids are very freaked out by the idea of someone thinking they're gay, even if they support the issue. Security comes with age.

Nobody ever thought I was gay, they just thought I was intelligent and logical.

When everyone on your staff is openly gay but you, people assume you're gay too. Especially in the early 80s. It wasn't a big deal, but I just wondered if that's what the OP was worried about. Some people would be very freaked out if someone thought they were gay and asked them out. All I was trying to say was that it happens, and its not a big deal. Otherwise, why would anyone care if someone thought they were gay?
