I'm white, and i see this all the time from other white people, in the office, or in their personal lives. White people will switch to "black mode" when talking to blacks.
i always wondered if blacks noticed it, or found it offensive.
one person in particular, does this habitually -- i asked him about it one day, and he didn't realize he did it. To me it's obvious.
