This group is equally despised by everyone including Christians other than perhaps a few Christians (and I use that term loosely in this context) that are equally as bad.
Agreed. Most people do despise them but I know some who think they are doing good, gods work, I tell them to take a good look at what they are really doing and go from there. So far I got one person thinking twice about them when he didn't before. What they do and why they do it has to be pointed to people who just don't get it and so they don't fall into their trap. The people who fight with them on the street are reacting to their emiotions and I don't blame them but they have to keep it in control so these disgusting pigs don't get away with the lawsuits to make money off the people they victimize and offend.
Hmmmm You know I believe in freedom of speech and I believe the Westboro church should be heard. Tell ya what, I'm sending them an OPEN invitation to come on down to Newark N.J this Saturday @ 12pm. Yeah come on down, we welcome you with open arms.

When they pulled their hateful act at the funeral of a soldier in a town near me a town policeman walked up and hit one of them right in the face. Strangely enough, all of the town people around the action were immediately struck blind and "saw nothing."
It's kind of ironic to me how universally hated this group is because of their actions and beliefs, yet it seems that many religious social conservatives and their push to make America more of a theocracy are, in all reality, not that many steps removed from these awful people.
