Litigation can only occur if the Govt is prohibiting the Private Health Companies from fairly trading. You cannot litigate against lawful competition. Is your fear from Losing private health care monopolies or from losing your elitist health cover? I'm sure President Kennedy didn't worry about the trillions of dollars he had to find for the Space race against the Russians and your amazing Space programme.

Again, you use the word "fear" to describe my comments. In as much as you are continuing to choose to misrepresent what I am posting - or, to be more blunt - continue to lie about what I am posting, I'm afraid I have no other choice but to discontinue our conversation. As, you clearly have no intention of being truthful -

Good night

In a way this discussion is irrelevent. Whover wins the Whitehouse will change the Health System in the USA. UHC looks top contender at the moment and i really do not think a Dem President with a Dem Congress will cause problems. I feel the tide of change coming to America for the benefit of all who live there.

I already said - I'm not "frightened" about the UHI scheme - so I would appreciate you discontinue trying to misrepresent what I have posted.

I posted realism - real life.
I hate to agree...but "that's the facts Jack". The point lost in this realism is that those who have nothing to lose because of no fault of their own, look to religious fanatisim for relief, or they revolt as we did against the Brittish oppression prior to the revolution. (worse they grab a gun and find a tower) I, like you, I think, invest to play both sides so you set yourself up to win either way. As a lawyer, how did John Edwards propose to get it down to a single payer? That is the solution I want.

GreatDay seems to have the "can't do" attitude!!

Is it a huge finanical commitment.. you bet.. but then so again is that war in Iraq which we've thrown billions (or is it now trillions) on??

I prefer the American CAN DO attitude.. because as long as you say "we can't do that" we never will get anything done!

So long as we have a system that pays doctors enough so people continue to become doctors, drug companies enough to keep innovating and hospitals continue to be built, what do we need insurance for other than creating capital to be risked on the equities market? I would rather have my health care money spent on doctors, drugs and hospitals than insurance companies and stock brokers.

Sure would be nice to put the money the drug companies put into ads for prescription drugs (create demand- "new diseases") into what the doc sees if there was more preventative care.
