I am surprised by how much i like Gingrich. He sure is smart and he has some really good ideas. Gingrich might be the best thing for the country right now. As he said himself, 4% unemployment sure looks pretty good right now!

Unfortunately, it looks like either Santorum or Romney will win, and i can't stand either of those guys. If the Republican nominee is someone other than Gingrich, i will probably support Obama.
I think it was a combination of checks and balances in the 1990s, a conservative congress with strong leadership and a left of center, populist president who wants to be reelected.

Get you and 30+ million of your best friends to write in "None of the Above" for President and Congressperson. We all know how to write those words so there should be no misspellings (I can dream, right?!). What would happen if the majority rejects both parties' candidates?

The US needs leaders. We should start a Presidential draft where we vote for people we WANT to run for President. Whoever we choose--I would imagine it would be a rather long list--would be under no obligation, but they would get the message that their fellow countrymen think highly enough of them to support their leadership. Someone will be empowered to consider running.

The solution is to get creative. I don't see Americans getting creative or even energetic. They are wasting their energy on arguing, placing blame, and thinking inside the box.

The answer is we need a independent deficit hawk, another Ross Perot, to run for President. That is what it took in the 90's.

Like Ross he probably would not win, but he would shape future policies.

Honestly we need neither. Unless one of these damn party's starts truly caring for the problems we face here at home. Taking care of business. This is in no way a good booming economy, can only fool your self for so long.
Worse housing situation ever, and going to continue to go down hill, house values, make me laugh, they are going to be the lowest come 2013, that is what the analysits predict.

Someone with a strong sense of business, is needed we are in a mess, we can each play our games, think this economy is good, reality, says it is not. No blaming others, that is ingorant to the core. It is what it is, and a lot of people are responsible.

This is why the conservatives want to turn back time to the 1800s so that women don't have the power to vote any more... Gingrich could be their good ole boy if only us pesky women didn't have the right to vote!!

Really? You mean when we had a Democrat--a conservative Democrat, but a Democrat--as president and his policies resulted in a balanced budget until the R's took over?

I thought that was what you meant.
