Well if you are arguing about how wonderful the GOP is and how terrible no good bad the democrats are I thought you might be interested that those Dems you are blaming switched to GOP and many of those GOPers who were for civil rights were driven out of the party.
The GOP does not do anything that is best for all americans. They do whats best for rich white people. Democrats do what is best for the poor and middle class.
Was the bank bailout the best for the poor? Waht about all the deregulation of many industries. The war in Iraq?
Well the bailout of the financial sector certainly wasn't bad for poor people unless you believe somehow that the money used would have gone to the poor instead. As for deregulation and the Iraq war, I fail to see the connection.

The bailout for big business was bad for middle class Americans because many of them paid into it. Democrats have supported deregulation as well as the Iraq war, both which have been bad for middle class and poor in my opinion

They both are. Both Republicans and Democrats favor corporations at the expense of the middle class and poor, the difference is that Republicans are a bit more honest in their hostility towards the working class.
There are lots of conservatives and moderates in the Democratic Party, particularly in the House and Senate. Even the liberals are generally nowhere near as liberal as the Republicans are conservative.
By historical standards, the ideological range in both parties is pretty narrow. The tent is not nearly as big as it used to be. I will reiterate, though, at least the tent isn't a big top.
. You get no promises from Republicans... You get to stand on your own two feet.
That's right. It doesn't matter if you're black, white, brown, yellow, red or green, you have a right to work for starvation wages until you cease to be useful, after which you will be thrown on the ash heap (no safety net for you buddy... if you wanted one of those, you should have picked better ancestors). Ah, the great Republican dream where everyone is free to be a rich man's slave. And they wonder why they are a minority party.
