"Students in ninth through the 12th grade attending summer programs at a community college outside Washington, D.C., will get a taste of the Occupy operation in a new course that aims to get them interested in "the movement for justice."
"Occupy MoCo!," one of the newest courses at Montgomery College in Montgomery County, Md., is part of the Summer Youth program offered for 2012."

The course description uses all the buzz words/phrases; i.e., "critical thinking," "social justice concepts," & "global leader," and asks interested kids, who would be 14 - 17 year olds, if they are "ready to join the movement for justice?" Although, they claim to be unbiased regarding the Occupy Movement.

I wonder how they define "social justice" .....
Get to them early and you have them for LIFE !!

The concept of "everyone is a winner" is no longer constrained to K-12 eh ?

Social justice is based on the concepts of human rights and equality and involves a greater degree of economic egalitarianism through progressive taxation, income redistribution, or even property redistribution.

I don't see how this is any worse than "Womyn's Studies" classes (and no, the misspelling is not a joke)

You have to understand Montgomery County to understand this course offering.

Wealthiest County in MD, one of the wealthiest in the US, overwhelmingly White until recently, the epicenter of the gun control movement in MD, lots of gated/restricted access communities.

So, they are recruiting through guilt? It does usually work on the innocent youth.

Sounds fine to me. A lot better than the completely fraudulent "creation science" programs in the south.

...Considering classes being taught on angry birds and symbolism in movies, I don't exactly see the issue with this.

Why not offer drinking & driving classes if instructing minors in how to break the law is acceptable?
