Hey libs, you missed your chance last time buying shares in ammo dealers when Obama was elected. Don't miss your chance this time buying stock in end times fallout shelters!
Vivos, a company that sells rooms in 200-person doomsday bunkers, has received thousands of applications since the massive earthquake in Japan, with reservations spiking nearly 1,000% last week. And people are backing their fear with cash: A reservation requires a minimum deposit of $5,000.
I didn't click the link...but I believe its prudent for any homeowner to have a back-up plan. Whether that be a cellar or some sort of reinforced structure full of rations. Catastrophe can strike at anytime. Nothing wrong with being prepared.

I take preparedness quite seriously, I agree. You should have clicked on the link because paying someone 200k for a hole in the ground in Nebraska is something else.

The bomb shelters of the 50s and beyond were underground and the bombs were to be above ground so I could understand those things up to the point when you had to open the door to look out.
These shelters are to be below ground also and that seems to me to be getting closer to the area where the earthquake is strongest. Oh well, you can't build your "hidey hole" from an earthquake further and further from the area affected by the quake, so maybe it has to be underground.
I looked at that website and had to wonder just what happens if one of the "legs" of the hidey hole gets broken off from the headquarters and the people trapped. It looks so good on paper and is nothing but a scam in reality. Take advantage of the scaredy cats who can afford to waste the money.
I would say that getting down on your knees and doing some old fashioned praying would be about as successful for those who BELIEVE as trying to hide from the catastrophe.
I can just see it now - some savvy risk takers decide to "homestead" a part of some national or state forest / preserve.
They form a construction battalion, covertly set up an underground complex, all without filing any pesky documents.
And when the SHTF, they have an ideal off-grid, off-records hidey hole.
Oh, wait, those illegal alien / grass farmers already did that.
Bum-mer.
