I can never understand the stupidity of parents that have so many dogs and let them near their newborns. Stupid people should not reproduce and should not be allowed to own pets.

Thank you. The dog has absolutely no idea that the two are related.

Frankly, I'm kind of surprised that the dog wasn't immediately destroyed and the fact that he wasn't clearly indicates that there were mitigating circumstances. That being the case, I'm glad he is getting a new life.

Half-wrong. Dogs lack the ability to generalize at first. There is where a trained dog must be taken to various places and trained to learn that it must obey the said command in the midst of all the distractions.

Your stance is implying that the husky in the story was trained and socialized before it bit the human baby.

The dog had been with the family for a month.
The mother left the infant alone with the dog.

Those two things alone lead me to believe that the 21 year old mother really had no idea what she was doing. You never - ever EVER - leave little kids alone with a dog and for sure not one that you adopted as an adult and have not had for very long.

From this article it is not even clear what the dogs intent was.
Newborn dies after dog bites head - National Dogs | Examiner.com
No one was there to see what happened, for all we know the dog wanted to pick up the baby and carry it to its mother because it was crying.

I'm glad the dog found a new home and hopefully the new owner will take care of it properly. I hate to see dogs put down because of owner stupidity.

I only hope that anyone that owns this dog now or in the future, has the common sense to keep it away from children and small pets.

Dogs need to be kept away form young kids and children.

At the end of the day though, a dog is just an animal. If it is a threat to humans it needs to be put down.

People always seem to blame the wrong end of the leash.

What about humans who are a threat to animals? Should they be put down?

Unfortunately this society praises them....especially if they can run fast and throw a football. See Vick, Michael.
