Perhaps we should throw conservatives at them, they apparently believe they know something despite their record to the contrary.

I don't think most Republicans are anti-education, but posts like this make it very difficult to prove

Yes, this thread is perfectly illustrative of the problem that the OP is highlighting. The conservatives can't think past their pre-programmed responses. Mention education and they spew out the same tired information about teachers unions and the Department of Education. The fight against the "Father of Lies" demands the sacrifice of conservative brain cells, it seems. A shame, as for many, they had few to spare to start with.

People come on here saying the OP is wrong and the fist thing they do is post stories about bad teachers. I mean what the hell. No, I'm not anti teacher, but hey, here are 10 stories about horrible teachers

this is not a liberal or conservative issue, it's a local vs. federal issue.

The point is this, get the federal government's nose out of our schools. We have state and local government, and even local school boards and a PTA. How about we abolish the federal DOE and just give that money back to the states?

How do you feel about the post a few up regarding those 7 NYC teachers that are not allowed in classrooms but cannot be fired ? They cost the city $650K per year in salaries and they have pensions and benefits as well yet are not allowed in the classrooms.

Funny, didn't see that in the OP. This is an anti-intellectual versus intellectual issue. We all know who is on what side.

The system has horrible problems and the situation with the 7 NYC teachers is a perfect example. But this isn't the topic of this thread. The topic of the thread is this:

2012 GOP SLOGAN SUGGESTION, "JUST SAY NO TO EDUCATION"

From the OP:
