Strange enough, black southerners tend to be among the highest among the blacks in the country. With cities like D.C. and Atlanta where a large, thriving middle-class black population exist, I find that hard to believe compared to cities like New York, Detroit, and Philly.
I guess you don't know New York really well. There is a thriving Black middle and upper class community. Places like St. Albans, Cambria Heights, Laurelton, and Rosedale in Queens have had middle class Black families for decades. Harlem has ALWAYS had middle and upper middle class Black families as do various neighborhoods in Brooklyn.
This is why welfare is obviously bad and destroys incentive.
The groups with the lowest achievement levels also have the highest numbers of welfare recipients. Their kids grow up with the idea that they won't have to work for a living so why try, why bother. The welfare office is generous.
Out of curiosity, why are you splitting up Indians and Asians? There are probably as much cultural disparities between Koreans, Laotians, and Filipinos as any of these groups have with Indians.
Also, what do you mean by the same class level? Outside of WASPs(if you are going by the definition of old money Northeastern Whites) all of these "groups" have individuals across the socioeconomic spectrum, not to mention variations in lifestyle, values, and interests within these "groups."
1. "WASPs": "old money" people descended from Brits who immigrated between the Mayflower and the Revolution, concentrated in New England and parts of Virginia.
Funny that you think that this group only settled in New England and "parts" of Virginia. What about the Carolinas and other places? Your list is screwed up.

Thank you. Most people dont realize this but the average income for a black family in Queens is actually higher then whites and very close to Asians, who are first in income on Long Island as well.
