With Newt, everything is is prefaced with a word that doesn't ever ring correct in context; "profound truths" that were never even intended as profundity. "Historic moments" that are utterly not. And so on.

I've noticed this sort of verbal rhythm he goes for as he speaks. It doesn't actually work, sentence-to-sentence.

Politics aside, intellectually I think the guy is a fraud. I keep hearing him touting as an "ideas man" and it kind of makes me want to vomit. I hate Santorum's politics, but he is an educated and intellectually serious person. He doesn't try to sound profound at every corner; he's more secure than that. Again I'm not a fan of Rick, but it's amazing to me how many conservatives dismiss Santorum as sophomoric in favor of Newt for these fraudulent reasons.

Has anyone else noticed this about Gingrich?

I noticed the same thing! I laughed so hard during a debate where he spoke slow and looked into the crowd as if he were about to say something profound. He said, okay I'm going to use a big word... And it ended up being something like dignity or a similar word only a 3rd grader would view as a "big" word. He must really view his base as idiots.

That he is a pontificating, hypocritical, self-aggrandizing, ass-hole?

Nope, I haven't noticed.

What a load of garbage, you might wanna back off on the koolaid.
Can people with this kind of thinking really be capable of making an informed decision as to who the President of the USA should be?
The Newtster would have this country thoroughly in the dumpster before his first year was done.. fortunately normal thinking Americans know this and as a result old newty doesnt have a chance.
