Prior to the 2010 mid-term election, Democrats held majorities in both The House and The Senate, and voted to keep Guantanamo Bay open.

Now the stay for terrorist detainees has gotten sweeter and it only cost you $750,000.

Some prisoners at Guantanamo Bay will soon have a new, larger soccer field to help keep them occupied during their indefinite detention.

The U.S. military has nearly completed a new recreation yard in Camp 6, the camp where more than 80 percent of the 171 prisoners are held. Besides a soccer field, it will have a walking trail and exercise equipment. Screened fences block the view of the nearby Caribbean Sea.

A spokeswoman says the improvements cost nearly $750,000. Navy Cmdr. Tamsen said Tuesday the new yard replaces a smaller one in a part of the prison no longer in use. President Barack Obama had pledged to close the prison on the U.S. base in Cuba but Congress blocked him.

When was the budget for this field approved and who approved it? Why did they approve it? What were the conditions? More importantly, where should these prisoners go if no country will take them? Remember some WERE released and went back to the same militia activity.

Until you can prove these people are guilty of a real crime and charge them accordingly, they deserve to be treated with dignity like all human beings.

Put them on trial, if convicted send them to maximum security.

There was an uproar because the president wanted to have them tried in this country (a civilian trial) instead of a military tribunal which is the proper way to do it.

Giving someone a trial in a court of law, what horror. That's anti-American.

Is our Washington in some kind of a race to bankrupt America as quickly as possible, while never spending money on anything useful?

Is there a disease that's taken over all of them? Can someone please bioengineer it to be 100% lethal?

First it helps to act like human beings instead of excriment throwing animals.

USATODAY.com - Gitmo guards often attacked by detainees

So, why has Obama not commenced military trials for the GITMO detainees? He's had more than three years.

Wait, is this another failing of AG-Holder & his boss Obama?

Exactly! They are freedom fighters to me. The US invaded their country not the other way around.
