if this is actually true, then everything to get there to that point is because of GW bush. after all if liberals blame gw for everything bad going on during the obama administration, then it also says that anything good that happens during the obama administration is also because of gw.

This is ridiculous. Even a submarine stops sinking once it hits bottom. Obama gets no credit for this. There are only so many jobs that a company can shed and still stay in business.

of course not, they are still blaming gw for all of obamas problems. sort of like an LP stuck on a scratched record.

Why didn't CNN report this?

Report: Mass. stands to lose 50,000 jobs
February 28, 2012

A new study says federal budget cuts could cost Massachusetts more than 50,000 jobs in the next decade, many in key sectors including defense, technology and health care. The study by the Donahue Institute at the University of Massachusetts says the losses would "strike at the very heart" of the state's innovation economy.

Automatic across-the-board cuts are scheduled to start in 2013 unless Congress agrees to a better deal to lower the national debt. The cuts would reduce federal spending by $1.2 trillion over 10 years by slashing the defense budget and support for programs, including Medicare.

UMass Donahue Institute projects federal cuts would cost state 52,000 jobs

Thursday, February 23, 2012

AMHERST - A University of Massachusetts study released Wednesday estimates the state could lose 52,000 jobs over the next decade if federally mandated spending cuts begin to be enacted as planned in 2013.

Those losses would come as the federal workforce is slashed, Medicare reimbursement rates are reduced and spending on research and development is pared back, the study said. Indeed, a reduction in the last category would "strike at the very heart" of the state's innovation economy, the report said.

What, make me freaking laugh, are you going to blame Bush for that?

Taxachewsucks isn't the only State that will be affected by Obama's really bad decisions as president. All 50 States will be affected to some extent and over the same time the US will lose another....

...2.5 Million jobs permanently over the next several years.

And by the way, just for the record, I'll claim this as yet another accurate prediction, because I said cutting the budget would result in job losses, not job creation.

So, how is Hope & Change working out for everyone?

The bleeding is still taking place. Okay, so Obama stuck a tourniquet around your neck to stop the bleeding.

Great.

On another note, we do appreciate the fact that you have broadcast in banner letters the fact that you don't understand Economics. There's no relationship between the Economy and the Stock Market. I'm absolutely certain you can explain to the good people here in exquisite detail why when the US GDP was growing at an average rate of 12.5% per quarter for 5 straight years, the Stock Market performed miserably, in fact that period is one of the worst economic disasters for stocks.

So, real estate agent man, you should stick to whatever it is that you know which is not Economics.

Preparing to amputate...

Mircea

Millions of workers have been cut from the rolls. Participation in the workforce is down dramatically under this president.

I posted this in another topic on this issue and I will again. The numbers are not accurate.

Additionally those participating in the workforce is down to approximately 60% which is at an all time low over the last 40 years. Additionally, look at the Bureau of Labor Statistics labor utilization numbers. The truer number is closer to 15.2% for unemployment.

*U-1 Persons unemployed 15 weeks or longer, as a percent of the civilian labor force: 4.8%/5.0%
*U-2 Job losers and persons who completed temporary jobs, as a percent of the civilian labor force: 5.0%/4.9%
*U-3 Total unemployed, as a percent of the civilian labor force (official unemployment rate): 8.3%/8.5%
*U-4 Total unemployed plus discouraged workers, as a percent of the civilian labor force plus discouraged workers: 8.8%/9.1%
*U-5 Total unemployed, plus discouraged workers, plus all other persons marginally attached to the labor force, as a percent of the civilian labor force plus all persons marginally attached to the labor force: 9.8%/10.0%
*U-6 Total unemployed, plus all persons marginally attached to the labor force, plus total employed part time for economic reasons, as a percent of the civilian labor force plus all persons marginally attached to the labor force: 15.2%/15.2%

Table A-15. Alternative measures of labor underutilization

I think most people can agree that the U-6 is closer to what people consider in looking at the economy. Because everyone knows that having a job that cut your hours from 40 to 16 isn't the same, and working over the holidays at Macy's isn't the same. Sadly, 15.2% of those wishing they could fully participate cannot, and remember while 84.8% may still sound good, that 84.8% is only of about 2/3's of those who can work and want to work. It is sad when those who cannot find work for over 2 years just get removed from the labor force.

It is also sad that we see unemployment drop to 8.6% and then 8.5% because we had almost 300,000 people drop out of the labor force and they completely stopped looking for work.

NOTE: Persons marginally attached to the labor force are those who currently are neither working nor looking for work but indicate that they want and are available for a job and have looked for work sometime in the past 12 months. Discouraged workers, a subset of the marginally attached, have given a job-market related reason for not currently looking for work. Persons employed part time for economic reasons are those who want and are available for full-time work but have had to settle for a part-time schedule. Updated population controls are introduced annually with the release of January data.

NOTE 2: When Obama took office the unemployment rate was 7.8% During Bush's tenure the employment rate was at 4.2 when he was inaugurated and by the time we hit the thick of the primaries in February 2008 the unemployment rate was 4.9% with an unemployment rate of 6.5% going into the election in November.

Untrue. It was this low during Reagan's first term as well. All time high, was, however, in the late 1990s. But, there's a reason to this. It didn't arrive on "Jan 20, 2009. Never mind the fact that the economy hadn't lost this proportion of jobs in a short amount of time since the Great Depression. How does over 800K jobs being lost in just one month sound to you? (Dec 2008).
