Okay. Aren't there guidelines as to who should be able to adopt children? Sounds like this guy was single and a sociopathic monster pedophile. How did he get access to so many kids? Made me think of the Sandusky case with his access to his Second Mile Charity for needy kids. Where is the oversite? Can't help but wonder if higher ups are involved. Poor kids - desperate for a home. The one little boy didn't want to tell for fear he would be separated from his new siblings.

My parents had to go through a home test and all kinds of psychological screening before they could adopt me. This was in 1993 and it was an international adoption. I don't know if it's different with domestic adoptions, and I don't know how much has changed in 19 years.

The question is how someone could pass inspection three times and be in the process of a fourth before someone picked up that something wasn't "quite right" with this guy?
They can't. My niece has been going through the adoption process all fall and winter. It is a very long, very intensely personal process, home visits, psych tests, more home visits...grilling....it has them up and hopeful, and down because they were sure the guy was serious w/ some of the really personal questions. There is no way someone is getting away w/ this unless there is someone on the inside. They need to investigate the whole dam agency. This should never, ever happen to a child, a biological child, or any child. This should especially not be happening if there are caseworkers and others involved in a process that should be as stringent as adoptions are...Someone at that place better start naming names!!. Those poor kids!!
Hold on just a minute. The operative word here is "accused," which does not mean the same thing as "convicted" or "guilty."
Well said - it is scary that someone like Cav Scout could get on a jury. Some people really don't have any critical thinking skills. They read that someone is arrested - and in their mind it makes them automatically a monster. If our republic falls in the next 100 years it will be because of this type of ignorance.

They confessed to police officers they raped a 10 yr old boy MUTIPLE TIMES.
That's MORE than enough for me.
