Funny how the Dems are against this and want more cushion in its reserves in case the economy falters again! (BTW:The republicans against this could see their last term.)
They must not have much faith in their president!
Incomes benefiting from this tax break starts at 36,000
Married filing jointly begin to qualify at 76,000
Why are the dems against helping them they are not RICH they are suppose to be the ones for the poor/poorer of the Americans!
Because of our Gov we are already in a better place than most states right now.
Wow this cut starts ABOVE the current threshhold for the top rate. At first I was thinking it was just another cut off the top rate or so called killing of a millionaire tax. Top rate starts at 53520 married.
83% will see no benefit. LOL. The ultimate example of state legislatures paying back their biggest contributors. Eh well Idaho's choice.
I'm looking forward to the extra spending money! 7.4% marginal state income tax rate on top of the state sales and property tax is still way too high though. As conservative as Idaho is supposed to be, our income tax is still higher than many other states.
That's a high state level income tax rate if you also have sales and property taxes.
From reading the article you posted it sounds like this is going to actually create deficits next years. Beyond that, how is a balanced budget measure that requires 7%+ increases in yearly revenue is going to work? That's a very high growth rate, especially for a state government.
On one hand, I hope so, and I hope that we attract more business. We already have a good number of businesses from CA and an increasing number from WA. Just the same...it brings in too many Californians and they turn Idaho into "California of the North". Coeur d'Alene is going downhill already.

Wow, your entire state has only 1.6m inhabitants There should be more than enough space even for Californians And a lot cheaper at that...

Property prices have been driven way up in the last 10 years...largely from Californians "cashing out" on overpriced homes down that way and buying McMansions up here. A large portion of our population is California refugees. Unfortunately, CDA is going the way of CA, particularly with their building and planning department. Some of them are turning Idaho into everything they were trying to get away from. Most that have made the move are not leftists morons though. A good number are moving here and embracing the lifestyle...and also want to build a wall to keep other Californians out.

Shame on you for that isolationist attitude.
Exactly how are the Californian transplants sending Coeur d.Alene into a spiral. Are they unemployed non-English speaking illegal aliens?
