I think miamiteacher should never have divulged her political views at all, not even hinted at them. It's not her job to say what her political leanings are, even when asked. A real professional would have said my private beliefs are private, just like who I vote for at the voting booth. My AP Government teacher back in high school never once hinted or told, even when asked, what her political leanings were, or whom she voted for, there's no excuse

Right wing propaganda, along with extreme right wing hate and stupidity is what the founding fathers would have wanted?

You know, everything is o.k. in moderation, in a liberal's worldview.
Sorry, for the delay in giving you an answer. If you take a look at this website: Advocates for Self Government there is a fairly well-known quiz put out by the Advocates for Self-Government.

I used the term moderate because it is better recognized than centrist. So I fall just inside the square in the middle to the left. Hence, moderate/liberal.

I don't believe that everyone who is not a foaming at the mouth, in my bedroom, let the corporations run the world, love the plutocrats who are giggling like schoolgirls with a fists full of cash are unAmerican liberal nuts. I believe in things in moderation. I don't think homosexuals should burn at the stake and that women who take birth control are all sluts.

As, I said in my OP, I was that "real professional" for years and years. Back when I could smile and be ok with people believing I voted for either of the Bush men or locals like Marco Rubio. I was fine. I just said that I made the decision to answer the question, when asked, who I voted (will vote for). I didn't run into the room shouting "I'm a democrat! Hear me roar!!" Which I'm sure some of you may have envisioned, because that is not my point. I just can't smile and say I won't answer the question. When a group becomes too radical, I feel that I need to distance myself from their beliefs.

How about leaving your personal opinions out of the classroom and do your job, as in, teach? Your personal beliefs are irrelevant to your job, nor are they important to anyone other than yourself. Are you really that insecure?

Those 5th grade educations and lack of basic reading skills are shining through from the right wing goons on this thread,..

The OP has made it quite clear they are teaching all sides of the political spectrum but if asked, will simply state their personal political stance.

I don't see why the brainwashed far right yokels are in such an uproar over this

Unless you have multiple doctorates, I'm fairly confident that I have more education than you. Personal insults aside, there is no place for voicing political views in the classroom. The role of a classroom teacher is to teach, it's not about the teacher's personal opinions, period.

I agree and the OP has not stated anywhere that they are trying to force their own personal views on the children. Simply if they are directly asked their personal political affiliation will tell them, rather than not answer.
I don't see the issue in this.

Of course you don't. The left loves to indoctrinate.
