that's funny. my friend who bought it lives in rural PA and gets 120 MPGe. I'd say that's not too bad. he has a 20 mile commute to work and he fills up around once per month.

How completely brainwashed are these obama supporters that they can't see this nonsense being hoisted upon this country.
i love the conspiracy theories. Amazing how conservatives don't understand free market economics in any way, shape, or form, when it comes to oil.

Yes, I know you save money by not having to buy gas but really, the vehicle is limited and should really be represented in the price.
the leaf would cost you around $23,000.

the Volt isn't limited. I prefer the leaf, personally, but the Volt is fine for anyone who worries about "range anxiety".

like i said, my friend is getting 120 MPGe in the rolling hills of the Lehigh Valley.

I just can't afford to pay the cost of staying overnight in addition to dental charges. My dental specialist who does my implants is 140 miles away so I have to run 240 miles on gasoline of stay overnight. When my car makes 30 miles per gallon it seems that I would be spending a ridiculous amount on that Volt and not save very much gas either. Hell it would take as much fuel to generate the electricity to recharge my battery as it takes me to drive my Chevy back and forth.

People have tried here to explain to me how that Volt would work so well for me but have made no sense, up to now. Can you explain it to me?
it may not make sense for you. you'd have the run the numbers for yourself. but, does that mean the car is a bad car? A ferrari also wouldn't make sense for you, but should they stop making them? Maybe a nissan sentra wouldn't make sense for you, if you happen to be 6'8", should they stop making the sentra?

the "me" attitude is why we don't advance ourselves.

the tesla model s that comes out this year is said to have a 120 mile range. the Volt can be "hacked" to have a slightly longer range. the technology will get better and less expensive.

this is the same crap people said about the prius. yeah, it won't work for everyone, but then a couple years later we had Chevy Tahoe's and Toyota Highlanders coming in hybrid versions as well.

Obama and Government Motors is going to have to force her to buy that thing and it better do a lot better than it does now or she will just walk.

Actually we just can't afford that price without some real good incentives.
isn't the grand cherokee around $35,000?

FROM KONRADEN: Speaking of doubting intelligence, the Volt was in designed long before the auto-industry bailout. GM conceived and designed the Volt because it believed there was a market for electric vehicles.

Clearly, there hasn't been. You'd have to be an idiot to believe the Volt was designed otherwise.

The Prius C comes out soon, and is said to get 53 mpg. The vehicle will cost around $20k. The Volt is just too pricey for what you get. The Volt is already struggling and this new Prius will only hurt it all the more.

The Volt never was a government project. Putting initiatives behind private projects isn't uncommon by any means.

The point still stands the Volt is a GM product through and through, not an Obama one.

Well I was just quoting what the EPA says..35 miles on a battery charge.
It's great that your friend gets 120 miles. Maybe he should contact the EPA.

Chevrolet Volt - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) official all-electric range is 35 miles..
