No, the basis for the denial from Chairman Issa was because she had no expertise to offer on the religious aspect of the 1st Amendment. That was the purpose of the Congressional hearing, to address the Constitutional conflict of the HHS rule in regard to the 1st Amendment specifically.

The manipulation of the issue is in the left denying that this is a 1st Amendment matter when Obamacare specifically gives a complete exemption to other religious groups on the entirety of the healthcare mandate. Were it not about the 1st Amendment and the infringement thereof HHS would be similarly offering an exemption in regard to the "contraception coverage mandate".

There is no difference in anything while using the C word towards a woman. By your logic if Limbaugh called Hillary a dumb c, then that would be ok and nobody would need be upset.

If the Columbia student thinks the general public should have to pay her three thousand dollars during college so she can spread her legs worry free, then maybe Limbaugh wasn't to far off, but certainly used poor judgement in wording it.

Bill Maher's not on AM radio blurting out his obscenities. You have to pay to hear Bill Maher.
Ed Schultz issued a public apology to Laura Inghram and took a self suspended week off w/o pay.
Rush Limbaugh, OTOH, has a history of trashing women and failing to issue any sort of apology.

Quick - name 5 witnesses in Congressional hearings. You can't, can you?

The only reason Ms. Fluke became a controversial person on the national level is the Right's inexplicable decision to use her as an example to frame the debate on a personal level. Who held a gun to Rush Limbaugh's head? Nobody.

The decision has backfired enormously, but don't come whining now. It was your main political voice who decided to make it personal. Your position is now thoroughly identified with a 200-pound multimillionaire media magnate deliberately insulting a 20-something female law student. The dittoheads are cheering, and the rest of the nation is recoiling in disgust, so - nice job!

You made the bed, jump in.

Okay, this statement is probably the most uninformed statement I've read on C-D all day:

Quote:
Something else to remember, no one was even talking about birth control until Obama brought this whole thing up. He is doing nothing more than playing pathetic political games. The goal, which has been successful so far, is to put something out there he knew many would be upset over, and the overall focus would shift from his record, the economy, gas, jobs, etc to this silly thing over bc.
Really? The President just sat around one day and said that he was going to put this stupid crap out there to take people's minds off gas prices or something? Hardly. This contraception issue was a part of the Affordable Care Act established in March 2010. It has been gradually phasing in different care levels since then. I think free mammograms were done last year.

Quote:
The Affordable Care Act takes significant steps toward bringing more than 30 million Americans into a better healthcare system than exists today. The law includes specific provisions that will improve women’s access to reproductive health care; it ensures, for example, that health plans cover maternity care as an essential health benefit and has the potential also to require coverage of family planning services, including contraception, at low or no cost to the consumer.

Now you may not agree or want the Affordable Health Care Act and that's fine. But please don't be so ignorant to assume that this latest round of phasing parts of it in have anything to do with some sort of Machiavellan plan to cause strife. The GOP has done that magnificently on their own and they keep handing the President this lovely gifts with their absolute stupidity on most matters. And by "stupidity" I don't mean that they stupid simply because they disagree with what is happening, but their stupidity because they cannot handly ANYTHING without disgracing themselves. It is such a joke anymore.

Interesting little read. I still believe that this 30 year old activist was used (and im sure she didnt mind) by the Democrats. She was used solely for political purposes.

So much for that hope and change coming to DC. He is as bad as anyone else thats been here when it comes to political charades and games. While Im sure some of you are proud he used this trick, but you really should be ashamed. But if you arent now, you never will be. The media and Obama pushed this hope and change and how Obama was really something different and refreshing. From week one he proved he was nothing different. Same bs. Tax cheats, lies, scandals, no transparency.

He continued some of the things he stood flat out against, and the liberals did too......at one time. Now very few libs say anything about the things they were yelling about 4 years ago. Its ok if Obama does it I suppose....

Bottom line is he used this BC and Sandra Fluke for political purposes. He knew at least part of what she said was going to make her look a bit foolish but he and Pelosi trotted her out there anyways. Im not going to excuse some of the names she's been called, unfortunately some on the right let themselves get caught in this stupid trap and they bit...bit hard. Regardless, half of her testimony was nonsense and can be easily argued against. But the fact that Obama orchestrated all this for distraction and political stupidity is what really should be the focus here. Its a shame many of you cant see that or you wont admit it. I believe you need to find another leader.

She went in this with gusto and I do not feel sorry for her at all,
if people do not know what is really going on here, which is bait and switch,
then they are all dumb asses!!
Obama is grabbing at anything to keep the topic of this failure as president
Rush Limbaugh fell for it with his big mouth
and Obama is prancing around like the FOOL he is!
He is hoping the topic will stay on this stupid girl and her seemingly
inability to find her way to planned parenthood for pills, she can not close her legs long enough and she is a laughing stock!
As a woman, I find her offensive!
But I have enough sense to know what is really going on
good grief you do not have to even have all the colors in the box to see it!!
So rant on while our country goes over the cliff!!
Thank God
I am not some dim witted to fall for this trash!
Get Obama the hell out of the white house!!

In the meantime, Rush Limbaugh can of course start pondering the wisdom of committing libel against a law student.

Sandra Fluke wasn't used by anyone except those making fun. She holds her beliefs and wanted to make them known. She is a student, she is 30, she can also be an activist for a cause as we all can be. She has a particular interest in BC being included in Rx insurance coverage (no, not because she wants to have a bunch of sex and make you pay for it). People are turning this into something it's not. Someone who knows something and believes something wanted to speak. The horror. The only relevant facts are what she actually said and what other people said in reaction. Rush..I'm talking 'buot you.
