The reason she testifies before Congress was to demand taxpayers pay for her $3,000 in contraceptives while she attended law school. The term commonly used when referring to someone who demands payment for their sexual promiscuity is "prostitute."
I'll say this again real slow so you hear it--she never testified about her sexuality in any way. Where do you get sexual promiscuity from her testimony??
I'm supposing you support hateful/sexist attacks on citizens for exercising their First Amendment free speech rights.
It's the extremists we need to worry about. The ones who believe in big government. Who want to place the boot of big government on our throats ... until we succumb to their immoral activities and points of view.
I do not like those type of comments towards people. However, it happens plenty on the other side and its is very rarely covered by the media, in fact, theyve taken part in it. How many times were people of the Tea Party, citizens attacked verbally in a nasty manner? Plenty. And the media took part in it, and did not come to their defense. Same with Obama.
You've summed it up perfectly. It's not just the specific words--heck, I've used them myself. It's the person he did it to and her reasons for what SHE was doing, his personal slam at her character just for giving her account of her life and other women like her, and how he felt to take her down into the dirt. It would be like me, Ms. Boring Middle-Age woman, getting up to speak about say, a type of cancer I've lived with, and giving my thoughts on the hardships, financially, it may have caused me, and having Rush (or any media type) publically shame me for being "XXXXX" because I had this disease and trying to pull me into the gutter.
Yes, women have been trashed for years, some of them started out with their own inciteful comments and harsh words and got them right back at them--for that, anyone is fair game.
Ah, faux outrage. It's not the specific words - you are exactly right. It's that he's a conservative, with a huge following that Libs hate. So you hate what he says. If a leftie says MORE vile words, you give them a pass, because you can't possibly put down someone from "your" side.
We get it. We've always gotten it. Hypocrisy. Double standards. Hate. Bigotry. Then the rush to excuse your messenger, with ridiculous excuses, at all costs.
For the record, I find any type of this language disturbing, but they ALL have the right to say them. And for women to only be outraged at conservatives that speak this way is equally disturbing. More upsetting is that they are getting upset at all. Sticks and stones.....

But it was OK for everyone to slander Palin's daughter during the 2008 campaign. Yup..hypocrisy at it's finest.
In fairness, it is well documented she is a plant and not your typical young co-ed eating Ramen and Mac and Cheese. She had an agenda at Georgetown. She's an activist. Who else do we know that was a community organizer and activist? Birds of a feather....
I don't know if that's true or not, but even if it is, so what? Does the fact that she is actively involved in politics make her testimony concerning contraceptives less valid than a table full of clergymen?
Great, you were outraged. You should have been equally as outraged that the media had little or nothing to say on all those other attacks by liberals. You should be equally outraged knowing that the ONLY reason they are raising such a fuss now is because they HATE Rush and want so badly to shut down the opposition. You really think they are outraged because they actually care or have values?
I'm not addressing this just to you--it's to all the people who think that this is just about hating Rush. It's bigger than that. This would have never been a big deal, except for 1) the "vaginal probe bills" in VA and PA 2) the personhood bills being introduced around the country that effectively ban the IUD and the pill 3) a hearing on contraceptive coverage where women were not allowed to testify and 4) the Blunt bill. When you combine all those things together, Rush's comments created the perfect storm, and now we're seeing a huge blowout over it. If you think the R party is going to win by introducing policies that attack women, you are wrong. You may disagree, but like many, I'm a woman, wife and mother before I'm a republican. Many R women have big problems with the party over these issues, let alone independent voters.
It is NEVER ok to say the things that some of these people have said about women in leadership, no matter which side of the aisle you're on. The problem we have as a party is that we're combining policy proposals with those comments that add fuel to the fire, and it's a losing combination.
If you disagree with me, fine, but I don't want to hear you whining and crying if we get our butts kicked in November. It may be the best thing that could happen--purge the social conservative crazies from the party, move on, and get back to being the party of Main Street where we actually have the upper hand and some authority.
But that's just it..one side slanders the other and thinks it's ok, but slander their side and they are all up in arms.
It's a childish game played by both parties. Run the emotions high and throw logic out the window.
Texan, this is about advertisers. They hold the only opinion that matters in the land of the almighty dollar. Maher got pinched back in 2001 for saying that the 9/11 hijackers weren't cowards. Remember? He lost his show on ABC over it. Sometimes, someone on both the right or left crosses a line. Limblahblah did. It's his turn to take a hit.
