If Obama isn't elected all children under the age of 13 will be killed and no one will be allowed to have children. Also we will all be forced to change our names to Bob Bobberson causing mass confusion.
Seriously, what a steaming pile of poop from Bachman. Really, where are the real issues?
The length of the bill is not the issue, other then by being so huge in scope and size, no one had a change (sic) to read and comprehend it before it was rammed down our throats.
That is one of the dangers the founding father probably saw coming, that future congresses could just legislate away their power. It does not make it right, when the president can simply appoint the head of a federal agency, who is empowered to create new laws, fines, punishments and mandates, all on his own, without congressional approval.
Which branch of government do you think is supposed to be writing our laws and regulations? The legislative? The executive? The Judicial? Or do you think it should be this new fourth branch of executive agencies?
The claim that the bill was so huge in scope and size, no one had a chance to read and comprehend it, is a red herring. The bill is typical of legislation. As I said, the Patriot Act was similar and the GOP didn't complain that it was so long and they were given almost no time to read it.
Moreover, the constitution speaks of heads of departments. Delegating running the government is not only a good idea but necessary.
Yea, Obama/Pelosi/Sebelius and Co. would like us to believe that. Fortunately, not all of us are as gullible.
HHS is the only rule making authority which has the ability to control life and death over the entire population of the country. It, not the patien/doctor relationship, will determine what treatment physicians are allowed to give patients.
And look who is being turned to for advice...
"John P. Holdren, whose list of titles in the Obama administration is so long that he’s only known informally as the “Science czar,†has some interesting ideas about the future of America’s economy. Or as critics may say, about how he wants to control America’s economy. Specifically, a 1973 book that Holdren coauthored with famed environmentalists Anne and Paul Ehrlich is coming back to haunt him with some of its more bizarre ideas about everything from abortion to advertising in the automotive industry." Obama Administration Science Adviser John P. Holdren Wants to Ban ‘References to Size, Power and Sexual Potency’ in Ads | TheBlaze.com
"In 1977, Paul R. Ehrlich, Anne H. Ehrlich, and Holdren co-authored the textbook Ecoscience: Population, Resources, Environment; they discussed the possible role of a wide variety of solutions to overpopulation, from voluntary family planning to enforced population controls, including forced sterilization for women after they gave birth to a designated number of children, and discussed "the use of milder methods of influencing family size preferences" such as access to birth control and abortion.[12][23] [24]" John Holdren - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Looks like we are in "Phase One;" with the administration's mandating of free "access to birth control and abortion." Probably only if that doesn't work, will they resort to the mandatory enforcement of family size restrictions as outlined in the president's current science czar's book.
Exactly how many children are people going to have, knowing that someone else will be working to support them?
I say have all the kids you can afford, and that includes our ridiculously expensive school system. We don't need any more people in the labor force, and overpopulation produces economic collapse instead of the endless expansion we were promised.
Anyways, this is typical politics. Take a policy and then go to the extreme with it.
"Gay marriage?" "Next thing you know people will want to be able to marry animals, or robots or even houses!" .
Now, take yourself back 25 years ago. What do you think people would have said about Gay Marriage? Think it might have been on the "Next thing you know people will want..." side of your example?
What Palin is talking about is something that we might see in 25 years...
This thread is about what she said about the potential for Obama to decree a limit to family size and that is not only a silly idea but the idea would hardly fly with anyone, either Democrat or Republican. So, yes, this thread is about something that won't happen.
Why are there so many dumb adults? I just don't get it...............
