We are not so naive to think that any modern President, actually runs the country. This one is working faster than any to bring us to a Police State not unlike Stalin's Russia, Hitler's Germany, Mao's China or any number of African countries dictatorial regime's.

Wake Up America...Where the hell is the ACLU...

I've never seen them so f n quiet...

The MSM's are so sold out to the plan, we have to get the news from the Russians now.

Such laws are not unusual around the world. And in a country with so many armed and crazy people, protecting politicians is quite a difficult job for police forces these days.

Why is this Obama's fault anyway? It says in the link that only three lawmakers voted against that law, i.e. both parties wanted it. Or did I miss anything?

The law is specifically tailored to where ever Secret Service are present.

Do you know how many events are under Secret Service protection?

It silences free speech on capital hill, G-8 meetings, even at a Rick Satantorum event.

You can go to jail if you protest at a rally for Mitt Romney.

It's not just elected officials that are under Secret Service.

See the problem with Americans today, is they are stupid, and don't value the rights that people gave their lives to uphold and insure.

It is no doubt difficult. Demonstrations as a tool have lost most of their power. Usually demonstrations have to be permitted beforehand. There are zones that are taboo. Basically demonstrations are only allowed as long as they are likely to remain ineffective. Just a feel-good event.
Are taboo zones visible to everyone, like with crime scenes? They probably have to be, otherwise the word "knowingly" wouldn't make sense.

Two of Hitler's quotes, I'm consistently reminded of, with such bickering and idiocy...

"The art of leadership consists in consolidating the attention of the people against a single adversary and taking care that nothing will split up that attention."

"The great strength of the totalitarian state is that it forces those who fear it to imitate it"

Obama's wrong for continuing certain policies, but to claim he's doing more to allegedly move the country into some police state is ridiculous. Look at where we were in 2000, and look where we were by 2008. The ground Bush's administration covered on that road is staggering...
