So, Yam Netty is demanding a commitment from Obama for military action if the sanctions don't work. I guess it's easy to demand the president of another country to sacrifice the lives of their citizens.

Israel clearly has an itch that they can't scratch and wants the US to scratch it for them. It just so happens that the sanctions currently in place are working. Ahmadinejad has fallen out of favor with the Supreme Leader. Even the Supreme Leader doesn't like him. Ahmadinejad is on his way out.

Quote:
The two sides are attempting to agree a joint public statement to paper over the divide but talks will not be made easier by a deepening distrust in which the Israelis question Obama's commitment to confront Iran while the White House is frustrated by what it sees as political interference by Netanyahu to mobilise support for Israel's position in the US Congress.

"They are poles apart," said one diplomatic source. "The White House believes there is time for sanctions to work and that military threats don't help. The Israelis regard this as woolly thinking.

And if Obama doesn't, what's Netty going to do?? Go it alone??? You go Netti.!!!

Wish Israel would stop interfering and just do it themselves. Enough American sons and daughters have died for israeli interests in the past 10 years.

Without a word or gesture of gratitude.

100% agree here.

I find it laughable that Israel now claims the US should stick its nose out and intervene. Yeah. Sure. We all know how well Iraq went and how cocked up the rest of the region is due to our meddling.

Israel needs to stand on its own two feet from time to time. If we make it clear that we won't shed our own blood at the drop of a hat of Israeli politicians, then maybe they'll act more responsibly.

Both the USA & Israel are sovereign nations that have do for themselves.

The only American citizens that have died for Israel are the ones that have dual American-Israeli citizenship and have lived in Israel.

Wrong chava. We fought both Iraq wars for Israeli interests. We had no reason other than to protect them to fight those wars..I am sure there are other wars where American's were killed because it protected Israel's interest. All of that for a nation that attacked our ship in 1967 and tried to sink it while trying to blame Egypt for it.

I am sorry you are wrong. Israel never asked the USA to fight any war in Iraq. Actually many Israelis were against this second Iraqi war (after 9/11). Israel did NOT need the USA to go to war with Iraq.

Asked no. Forced, coerced, used AIPAC's influence over congress and senate yes.If Israel doesn't need us to do their dirty work why do they keep complaining that we refuse to attack Iran? They are obviously more than capable of doing it themselves.

Israel doesn't have the power to force or coerce the American Government.
Israel has fought its own wars in the past (meaning it did its own dirty work).

Obama is the first post American President they had to deal with, so it's tough for them.
