You should check that out with snopes and truthorfiction. It didn't happen.
Military suppression, with the associated death and destruction of a native but different population, is fine so long as the strategic and financial goals of the USA are met. What we did to the Philippine people was unconscionable and almost as bad as what we did to the Vietnamese, Laotians and the rest in South East Asia.
These are not actions we should be proud of doing but actions we should deeply regret as they cause a lot of people on both sides their lives. War for profit for the few is an abomination. It was then and it is now.
