Do you have some kind of crystal ball that none of the rest of us have? Unless YOU work for the oil companies you can't say for sure can you? The fact is, most everyone spouting the oil will be sold for foreign consumption are probably just sitting in their armchairs spouting off what they've read in some propaganda... Hell... those of us in the industry yet not employed by the gas companies themselves can't tell you with any certainty what will happen to that oil down the road by the time the line would be built... even if construction started tomorrow...

geeoro - Thanks for a sensible post.

If any of you think we will have high energy prices now just wait until Romney of Santorum become president. Big oil OWNS those guys and will set gasoline pricees as high as possible so long as declining sales do not damage profits.

We do indeed export a lot of fuel.
U.S. exported more gasoline than imported last year

The 3 refineries in Port Artur are in a free trade zone. That stuff coming from Canada will mostly be exported.

It will have no effect on the price of gasoline here.

Speculators increase the price of gasoline about 50 cents a gallon. Then there are those who want to bomb Iran. Wonder how that figures into the price? Will the Saudis defend the Straits of Hormuz?

Keystone XL is fool's gold. It is about Canada and oil exports. Who sucked you into believing "our economy and our energy production"?

Keeping antiquated refineries in business is apparently more important than near certain contamination of America’s vital underground water supply.

Oil prices are not managed by government but are created and controlled entirely by the petroleum industry through a set of legal cartels and illegal arrangements. This has been true for over 150 years.

Blaming President Obama for gasoline prices may be convenient for the RWA's but is entirely misplaced. The prices are controlled by the companies not the President.
Any oil that goes on the market regardless where it goes , relieves the demand and thus creates lower oil prices.

If demand is met and there is a glut , there will be lower prices.

Plus the jobs created is a plus. Obama and his green energy agenda is getting in the way of creating more oil to meet the demand.

The Causes and Effects of High Gas Prices

Doesn't matter how many times this is repeated, some will keep refusing to acknowledge it as truth.
I will never understand why so many are so dedicated to ensuring that foreign companies keep increasing their profits at the expense of local citizens whose lives could be irrevocably changed for the worst.

Economists agree: Stimulus created nearly 3 million jobs - USATODAY.com

Yeah, that's logic in the R alternate universe.

The Progressive alternate universe is that paying people to stay on unemployment is an economic stimulus. (Nancy Pelosi)

Because even those of us in the industry don't know what will happen with that oil.

I could walk out the door in a few minutes and get hit by a bus. Heck, I gave Obama a few years benefit of the doubt because I couldn't tell you what was going to happen in the future. Perhaps someone is going to invent a Mr. Fusion time-machine this afternoon and we can go back and do things different from here on out and we won't need oil. This is why ya'll arguing and spouting about nothing more than what you have read, or what you believe, is nothing but speculation. Your so firmly against something that you can't fathom that there is another side to the story, as long as you think you can convince others that your the only one who's right. Well, hate to break it to you...while I don't know the answer, admit it... neither do you!
