I think the three leading Republican Candidates currently running are way, way worse then President Obama. One, Gingrich, is an egomaniacal jackass, another Santorum, is a Religious fanatic with the "one RIGHT way" and the last, Romney, has been separated from economic reality for so long he simply does not have a clue about living in this country.

BTW – The monopolistic energy industry in this country really does need to be destroyed. It is as uneconomical as possible without complete self induced collapse. It needs to be replaced with a completely nationalized from fuels to delivery system based on the TVA model.

Check out the electricity prices of the publically owned TVA compared to the privately owned, and misnamed, Public Service of NH. Last I checked the TVA charged around 8 cents a KWh and PSNH 16 cents. Public Utilities provide better service at lower cost than privately owned power companies.

I believe the same would happen after the government nationalized all the oil, gas and electric utilities in the US and operated them in the public interest instead of monopoly profit. Then a policy designed to develop domestic sourced transportation fuel and current technology nuclear generated electricity could be implemented without interference by insane market demands for ever higher stock prices.

Their repeated actions (ignore the daily pabulum spoon-fed through the MSM to the politically innocents) such as postponing Keystone reflect a premeditated plan to raise the price of domestic energy to crushing levels by executive fiat. (The word "postpone" is bureaucratic euphemism meaning "render dead as a doornail.") Americans have seen three years of a series of brutal administrative assaults on the coal, natural gas, oil, and power production industries. Ignored by the media, Obama's czars, those unconfirmed hard-leftists infecting the executive agencies, have written literally hundreds of new onerous environmental regulations adversely impacting offshore drilling; fracking; and extraction, transport, refining, and sales of all fossil fuels."

And, Harry Reid vows to kill an amendment to a highway bill that would force approval:
Reid: Democrats will kill Keystone amendment - The Hill's E2-Wire
"The president believes that it is wrong to play politics with a pipeline project whose route has yet to be proposed," White House press secretary Jay Carney said Thursday when asked about Obama's phone calls, noting that an alternative route through an ecologically sensitive area of Nebraska has not yet been determined.
The President "believes that it is wrong to play politics with a pipeline project?" Really? This is interesting, since there had already been a route proposed, and even Hillary Clinton had recommended that the project be approved. But Obama is playing to his radical environmentalist base, who oppose things like pipelines, especially this one. Of course, that is not "playing politics," I guess.

While from Obama's own lips, he boasts of his efforts to create jobs, and reduce our dependence on Middle East Oil, at the same time he is killing jobs by his actions, and also killing any hope we may have of becoming less dependent on oil produced by our enemies.

Is this smart policy? It is not, but it is not Obama's purpose to "promote the general welfare" in accordance with the Constitutions stated purpose of the Federal Government of which the President is head.

Do we need anymore proof than what we have already, including the above, that this President's purpose is the destruction of America?

With a second term, and no need to worry about being elected again, he will pull out all the stops.

It is time that all Americans realize what the game is, and why this man must go.
There are several good reasons not to allow this construction. The comical rhetoric made me laugh, though.

The pipeline company announced a couple of weeks ago it was proceeding with construction in Texas and Oklahoma, if I'm recalling the news articles correctly.

This oil from Canada is destined for foreign ports, not domestic USA use. That's my understanding. It'll create some jobs in the USA but isn't likely to lessen our fuel problem.

I would like to congratulate the President on lowering natural gas prices to 10-year lows, thus saving American homeowners and businesses hundreds of millions of dollars. The financial reward for his work is money in our pockets.

I agree with you; that certainly would have a profound effect, just not a good one for the earth.

You realize none of the republicans running are the president, so i do not see how they are worse than the current president.
To be worse than the current president they would have to be president.
