To answer your question its not so much about teaching someone about birth control as it is about teaching women that they have more options in life then being baby factories. You can teach people about contraception all you want, but it will not matter if women in a country, due to lack of education, don't believe there could possibly be more choices in life then pumping out kids endlessly.

The mentality, due to lack of education, in the much of the undeveloped world is not to have family planing so you can provide a good standard of living and save for retirement, but rather to simply have lots of kids in hopes some of them will take care of you when you are old.

I agree, although men also need to be educated, especially about self-control.
And contraception is the answer... not killing through abortion after life is created.

Is this for real?
Just this morning, I put together some food for the boy scouts that come by occasionally to pick up food for food banks. They do have some limits on what they'll take (no produce, no frozen foods) but I've never heard of making donations forbidden.
Strange.

Good points, Chicagonut.
They need educating about the consequences of sex and they need encouragement in self-control.
Yes, most know intellectually, but media bombards them with encouragement in NO self control...
TV shows & films full of sex with no shown consequences.
Then they're fed lies that it's ok to kill a human life if you made a mistake by having sex without understanding risks involved &/or by not using contraception. Such lies are supported even by our government legalizing abortion murder.

This is why 97% of abortion murders are given the reason for the pregnancy being "inconvenient" & "unwanted."
Abortion Statistics
Most don't realize how cruel this killing is conducted... by ripping the child's body apart limb by limb - who, by week 12 when most abortions are performed, can FEEL because all body systems (including nervous system) are intact.

I disagree with this, Chicagonut.
What we need to do is learn to live without exhausting so many resources...
And to support the FAIR distribution of natural resources (which often just means letting other countries keep more of their own resources/profit).

Whenever I hear talk about population limits, I'm reminded of the Georgia Guidestones & seemingly goals of a Global empire...

What some of us have been trying to explain is that too often corporate (government backed) representatives from developed countries are largely to blame for corrupting less economically developed country (LEDC) leaders. They go in and make bribes and threats for LEDCs to accept inflated high interest loans... so often LEDC leaders give in to this corruption & there isn't much left (after paying other expenses like foreign debt) for more vulnerable people who are in such need.

You make assertions you cannot support.

People in regions like Africa usually want kids. It's not that they don't, but just don't know how to prevent pregnancies.

Nor do I know if the number of people on this planet would even be a problem if there were not so many other problems already, many of which dating back hundreds of years.

Humans are very stubborn and hate to change. We could grow much more plant food if we did not waste land for growing foods for farm animals, shifting towards vegetarianism would really help, wouldn't even have to be a complete shift.

....and by growing more food we would then expand population levels and guess what would happen then?

Yep, starvation along with even more pollution, soil degradation, political unrest and so on and so forth.

I mean look at one of the biggest victims of starvation over the last 5-6 years. North Korea....whom can make nuclear wheapons but can't feed their people. Heck, they lost access to lots of free food from the USA and SK just because they backed out on the no-nukes deal.

In other parts of the world the problem is no different than the population cycle of the lemming. Uncontrolled growth until food resources are over-run and a mass die-off occurs. Lather-rinse-repeat every 4 years. That's often the situation in many African countries where they have no flex built into the system and they grow-grow-grow until a drought hits and then wham. Die off.

Why don't we pick out some of the countries with the biggest starvation issues the past decade and discuss why?

How about Bangledesh? You know, the country with 45% of the US population but only 1.3% of our land?
