A Gathering of Turkeys ("American Redoubt" Concept) (extremist, death, racist)

Polarizing rhetoric and ominous militarization by a new wave of extremists with a vitriolic hate and distrust of government will inevitably lead to "messiahs" who will convince their followers that death is preferable to bowing to existing laws.

This so-called "gathering of eagles" (people opposed to oppressive “big-city liberalism and UN-sponsored globalism") is just another racist and xenophobic cult like the Aryan Nations that didn't learn the lessons imposed from the Davidian siege at Waco and the massacre at Ruby Ridge.

The idea of building a fortified home for “Christian Patriots” in the Northwest is known as “The American Redoubt,” a plan to strategically group people across five Western states (Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Oregon and Washington) as a “defensive reaction” to threats to liberty and the Christian way of life. It was first proposed by survivalist author and sovereign citizen James Wesley, Rawles. (The comma is part of his name; sovereigns often use such bizarre forms of punctuation.) “I am a separatist, but on religious lines, not racial ones,” Wesley, Rawles wrote on his website. “In calamitous times, with a few exceptions, it will only be the God fearing that will continue to be law abiding. Choose your locale wisely.”

What Wesley, Rawles casually ignored...is the history of the idea. Others have chosen the Northwest for similar reasons. They were Nazis.

...What is happening in Montana — thanks to this newest wave of extremists — is a convergence of two “separatist” ideas that have long fermented in the brew of Pacific Northwest extremism. The antigovernment “Patriots,” the larger of the two movements, want to establish a remote base of like-minded allies as a bastion of resistance for the day when, as they believe, the government will impose martial law. White supremacists are organizing around the idea of forming a long-desired all-white homeland far away from the multicultural cities.

I've been following Rawles "Redoubt" concept for quite a while ever since he wrote about it on his website. The project encourages people to move to ID, MT, WY, and parts of WA and OR (though the latter two still strike me as odd and I think they should have just made it ND and SD). I support the concept, just as I support the FSP and Free State Wyoming.

However, since the project is oriented towards religious people, it rather excludes me by-design.




As for what the ADL or SPLC has to say, like many of the intelligence briefs on their site, they tend to chuck everything including the kitchen sink into their articles in an attempt to conflate all kinds of disparate groups of people together.... so..... whatever.... that's their usual M.O. To them, a bunch of right wing hippy back-to-the-landers growing vegetables and bartering with their neighbors is interchangeable with people promoting a race war.

Rawles is NOT a racist. I've met very few racists in the patriot movement and they were qickly shut up and shut out....frankly I've seen and heard quite a bit more racist crap from individuals on the left than from the right....monkeys throw their own excrement, the SPLC throws cries of "Racist! Neo-nazi! Hate monger!". I suppose fear mongering raises a lot more money than honesty and truthfullness.

freedomthroughanarchism, I get the impression from listening to radio free redoubt that no one cares if you're an atheist as long as you love freedom- it's values and behavior, not a religious litmus test.

(The thing that kills me is that nazi is a contraction for national socialist. the freedom movement eschews socialism, liberal do gooder and national varieties and others. Statists are statists)

I encourage ALL of these similar minded people move there asap. That will get them out of the way of the people that want to build a greater US with real "Freedom and Justice For ALL".
