It appears to me that if 11 Democrats defected there must have been about the same number or maybe a couple more Republicans who defected since the vote was 56 - 42. I wonder who can take any solace in how many Democrats voted against the party stand. Surely the number of Republicans who voted with the Democrats is kind of important.

Don't forget -- Barack is doing everything humanly possible to get more jobs.

This alone should be enough not to elect Obama in Nov.

Another example of continued paralysis that has plagued the Congress whenever an important decision or process must be addressed.

And before we're inundated with other information

We import crude
We export refined product

And when Trans-Canada said they were going to go ahead and build the OK to TX part.. It was bid, and submitted as a completely separate project known as the Keystone Expansion... not part of Keystone XL. While ultimately they function together somewhat.. they are two different projects.

If all the Republicans had voted as a block the amendment would have passed, but some of them jumped ship as did the Democrats who voted with them.

This is too interesting, to me, for words. Neither of the leaders in the Senate can control his members. I say push both of them aside and get along.

Do you want the leaders of the party controlling their members? I think I want them to do the right thing instead. I do agree changing leadership in both parties would be a good thing.

That's good news. Trans-Canada deserves the abuse they're getting. Hope they get a lot more before this thing is eventually passed.
