They buy a lot of military equipment from those countries.
Also, by backing a longtime ally like assad it shows they will do the same for others and it helps their influence and standing in the oil rich middle east.

Well, I don't know where the hospital that my brother was born in was located - all I know is that he was born while my father was stationed down there in 1947.

The same with McCain - I have no idea where the hospital he was born in was located, either.

I just always take a bit of a personal interest in this when the topic comes up about whether or not McCain was eligible to run for POTUS.
