We certainly got no WMDs out of it. So what did we buy with $1,500,000,000,000 dollars? Nothing more than a huge national debt? Real smart.

who said anything about trap and the auto bailouts? since obama took office, the deficit ballooned to over $1 trillion dollars per year, the highest under bush was around $400 billion in one year. and if obama has his way, we will have $1 trillion plus deficts for the next ten years. remember that $787 billion stimulus package that obama wanted? and for the record, who was it that stole gm and chrysler from the rightful owners and gave a substantial portion of both companies to the UAW?

A large part of that 1.5 trillion paid a lot of military salaries that would of been paid whether or not we were in Iraq. I do think we should of just stopped and shock and awe, capturing Saddam, and then going home though. I am not a fan of nation building.

really? You must have been in a coma when Bush submtted his "budgets" that excluded all the costs of his Wars and then submitted them as a "Supplemental" budget to finance them!
President Obama was the first one who put the actual cost of these Wars and what it was costing us into his budget! Surprise what huge defecit!

I think the $1 to $2 trillion that is often given is how much the Defense Department spent in Iraq. If you count what the State Department has spent and all the money that we will be spending in the decades ahead to prop up the Iraqi government, the amount is much higher.

Thank Cheney!

considering that the debt rose by $5 trillion over 8 years during the bush administration, and the debt has risen by the same amount in less than four years during the obama administration, you cant really complain about bushs spending without complaining about the obama administration spending, especially since obama campaigned on fiscal responsibility. it also points out that bush spent less per year and had SMALLER deficits than obama had, by at least half.
