There's been a lot of talk lately about whether or not we still need the electoral college. Those who would do away with it are naturally the ones who (think they) would benefit politically from that change. They're wrong, IMO, but hey, everyone's entitled to their opinion.
Here's a good breakdown of why we still need the electoral college - perhaps now more than ever.
I don't expect that anybody here will change their position (the C-D PoC folks seem to have their opinions pretty well set in stone), but if you take a few minutes to watch the video, you can't say that you haven't come across a good explanation of why it shouldn't be done away with.
I have never seen anyone put forward the idea that people should give up their right to vote for the president, let the college vote for them, because they sacrificed their rights for the greater good simply by saying the pledge of allegiance to a Republic...which now has nothing in relation to any sort of democracy in his mind.
He's right because, well, he states anyone who disagrees with him is an idiot.
No wonder the only place that would pick this guy up as a commentator is PJ Media.

Me neither. Did you watch a different video or something? Maybe you should watch it again, 'cuz the point was clearly way over your head the first time.
I'm not surprised. I'd have expected nothing more than zero effort from you, burdell.
If you did watch the video (and I'm quite certain you didn't), perhaps you'd like to provide a counter to Whittle's argument against using a popular vote for the President. At least then we'd be able to tell if you actually took the requisite nine minutes required to properly engage in this discussion.
