Most people in this country would agree that you should have to prove who you say you are/where you live when voting. Of course though, liberals dont care, as they also try to make this a "race" issue....as usual.
As long as racism is an issue in this country, the race isse will always be brought into this discussion.

Like you aren't defending conservatives right now?

It's people like you that make it an issue. You throw out that term constantly. Do you know that the term "racist" is now watered-down? Seriously, it has little effect nowadays because of its over-usage.
Tell me, if EVERYONE has to get a photo ID, how is it racist?
There are many laws and actions done by the GOP in the past that benefited minorities. You do know that the GOP was responsible for getting civil rights legislation passed as the democrats voted against it?
That simple fact shows your generalizations to be invalid. Stop using them. Start using specific means of support, otherwise people will simply disregard your arguments as garbage rants.
Please don't use the GOP is responsible for the civil rights act BS. The GOP of today would have voted that down.

You can say its watered-down if that makes you feel better. It still has the same affect it did 20 years ago.

It's been my experience that the only folks who See racism are the folks that are looking for racism.. but that's just my experience..
Personally, (as someone already pointed out) I don't think either party is protecting any one except themselves.. they want you to believe that they are protecting your interest but don't believe it for a second..

I'm defending conservatives. I'm not defending the GOP (as a whole). Although in this particular topic (voter ID) I do support their position. This is pointless, because obviously you want to make this about race. To me.. it's not about race. It's about common sense. Legal citizens have the right to vote. As long as every LEGAL citizen has the opportunity to get their ID what's the freaking big deal??? Instead of griping and bitching, come up with a compromise. If I say I'll pay for it... will that make it all better?
Photo IDs, like they have in Florida, make it harder for the Chicago way of voting: voting early and often.
