BS. You take propagand from the "Worldwide Forest/Biodiversity Campaign" as an unbiased, factual source? In my state, 70% of the property is owned by the Federal Government, mostly the Forest Service. Logging on FS lands is nearly non-existant. While the feds own 70% of the state (and an even greater percentage of the forested land), only 10% of the timber harvest in the state is from Federal lands.
No I don`t take it as an unbiased source but you can`t deny that there are offsetting job gains in the tourism sector. The job losses were minor when compared to the heavy hit that we took here in western Pa. when the steel industry took some heavy hits in the 80`s. We survived rather well.
