The presidency would not give him the power to ban BC and/or abortion and everyone knows that (well, everyone except liberals who let their fears override any knowledge they may have of the legislative process). While he has floated out the idea of a constitutional amendment to ban abortion, fat chance such an amendment would ever pass the Senate, let alone be ratified by 2/3 of the states.

Meanwhile, back on topic, the suicide of a young girl who preferred death to marriage with her rapist is not a left/right issue. It is a tragedy and is viewed as such by virtually everyone whether left or right.

Yet the libs in this country would have you think you're waging a 'war on women' if you refuse to pay for their contraception.
What happened is beyond tragic and the only thing to say about Obama's war agaisnt women is that he will do anything to get a vote and keep power. He doesn' t care about fracturing the USA at all.

The presidency doesn't give him the power but the Repugnants keep introducing and passing bills that chip away in little incerments women's human rights.

Of course , if they came out with a big "let's make abortion illegal" it wouldn't work.....but little steps often lead to more....and more erosion of women's rights...

This IS a political issue when Repugs have a candidate who thinks a rapist "gifted' a woman by raping her.....

next step : Well, we can't have those floosy SINGLE moms draining our taxes!!!!
They HAVE to marry the Daddykins! That great wonderful "gift giver!"...

See what happens when a nation goes backwards....

people distort what happens. shot gun weddings were common 50 years ago.
sex with a minor was always statutory rape. bek, this happened in a far off country now its somehow strange and foreign. what has changed is our criminalization of all male sexuality.

I think you are letting your fears and imagination take over. Since 1973 abortion has been a legal medical practice that cannot be restricted. The Supreme Court ruled that abortion was a constitutionally protected right. States can, and have, passed laws that attempt to make abortions more difficult to obtain and many of those laws have been defeated in the courts. The only way Congress could overturn the SCOTUS decision would be by passing a constitutional amendment and sending it to the states. There isn't much chance of this happening and even less that such an amendment would be ratified by 2/3 of the state legislatures.

Did I say it did? He pushes his position every chance he gets.

He thinks States should be able to ban birth control but NOT be able to allow same sex marriage ...

Where are the radical multiculturalists now? Is there really no difference between Islam and other religions?

How come liberals don't get worried, when they hear Muslims in western countries voicing the same opinions, but get enraged when some Christians are against contraception?
