The government knows something that we the citizens don't. Of course we'll never know what that "something" is until after the fact, but i'm sure this posturing is for some event that our own government reasonably foresees and believes will happen.

And we think we're free? Only under "good" circumstances.

‘SWIFT’ Reaction: Iran May Block Oil Exports - Middle East - News - Israel National News

Iran is barred from using the Swift system. This is a global system for money transfers- by blocking Iran from using the system to recieve money for it's Oil that has been sold. In effect the blocking of Iran is in a way a declaration of war.
