"And, in 2005, a Black teenager was killed by two white security guards, one the son of a Sanford police officer. The pair was arrested and charged, but a judge later cited lack of evidence and dismissed both cases."
On March 21, From The G-Man contacted Cole Thornton to obtain more information about the claims made in the Orlando Sentinel article. Thornton's comments will be published as they become available.
The Department of Justice is now reviewing the case, and, as this story was being posted, CBS News is reporting that Sanford’s Chief of Police, Bill Lee, has “temporarily” stepped down.
Correction:May 23 (10:00 am) The article notes that Sanford Museum curator Alicia Clarke referred Jack Benton as a source of information for this story. Mr. Benton was actually referred through another source that spoke to From The G-Man.

Exactly, some people think they know FL because they spent a week at Disneyworld.
While FL has areas that are very nice with beaches and nice resorts in places like Sarasota that cater to tourists and well off retirees, a lot of the state once you get away from the water is just like Sanford, FL.
As this poster said two years ago the son of the police chief in Sanford was one of the redneck teens who beat up a black homeless man for fun.
Only because once again this story made national news were arrests made 3 days later.
If that story hadn't gotten national attention they would have gotten away with it.

Wow, suddenly the millionaires I've been spending time with lately (not out of choice) don't sound so bad to me! Seriously, I never could understand why people with so much complain when others with so little are hungry or homeless or just need medical care.
However, reading about shooting people is a lot more disturbing to me than greed. No matter who you are, White or Black, rich or poor, I do not believe that guns are the answer.
Back in college around 1968 or 69, I had a poster over my bed which showed a mushroom cloud after a nuclear attack. It said:
"War Does Not Determine Who is Right, Only Who is Left"
What gets me about the whole situation is we never hear about senseless black on black murders but a non black kills a black and the world is coming to an end. As a country we are totally screwed until this race crap is no longer an issue.

And if they followed you, stalked you, and then got out and chased you, and tackled you...would you not resist and fight back???
They drug tested the youth...who was negative...but didn't bother drug testing the shooter/monster....
And they waited 3 days, before notifying the parents...while boys body sat in morgue....(cause they knew they screwed up)...

It depends on the laws of Florida. Here the sidewalks and streets in an HOA community are considered public property and maintained by the city or county. In other states they may be private property and maintained by the HOA.
I just find it funny that, all the sudden, Zimmerman has an attorney. If he has been cleared and released without charges, why does he feel the need to have a lawyer?
