I know it's really sad. America is so backwards, bigoted and intolerant. All of the religious freaks from Europe came to America over the centuries which is why our country is so ****ed up and backwards.

He doesn't need any help from anyone.

A Southern Baptist? The late Molly Ivins called them "Shi'ite Baptists." For a minute I thought it was a clip of someone having an apoplectic fit. This guy is a stroke waiting to happen. Somehow I think God is not impressed.

Think God will bother removing the blessing of this nation due to the thousands upon thousands of dead civilians our war over non-existent WMD's caused? Or is he just mad about the gay people? Or is he mad that state sanctioned prayer was removed from school (even though Jesus said do not pray in vain repetition, do not pray in public to be seen, etc)?

Please, elaborate on which blessings are being removed and for what reasons?

Even though that statement is 100% accurate and reasonable, don't try to tell it to the fundamentalists/evangelicals.
My sister-in-law basically had to leave her church due to people being rude to her and her children after she had the audacity to question why we sing God bless America instead of God bless Everyone.

In American, phony patriots are all wrapped up in the notion that true patriotism must include a cross in one hand, a bible in the other, while being draped in a flag.

Except that this neither is or ever was a Christian nation. It was in fact founded by people fleeing FROM Christian nations.

Ahh yes, like ending slavery, segregation, allowing women to vote.. enforcing the 1st amendment's separation of church and state... the list goes on. The "agenda" of the left is LIBERTY and EQUALITY. That's why EVERY advancement in civil rights and equality in this country has been made by "liberals" in conflict with conservative and Christian/Biblical principles.

Your bronze age tribal totem is incapable of removing any blessing from this land - blessings which came FROM THE PEOPLE and BY THE PEOPLE, NOT your sky daddy and his book of cheap hand-me-down fairytales.

Consequently, to claim that's Santorum's preacher is a mischaracterization and dishonest.

Love that you are a right wing thread killer but I need to point out something - that looks like a FUNDAMENTALIST Church, AND FUNDIES AND CONSERVATIVE CATHOLICS ARE Fast Friends!

Evangelicals are NOT always conservative. Fundamentalists and Pentecostals always are. Several Liberal to moderate churches in the US are Evangelical, and I am a proud member of one. The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

I meant Evangelical in the political sense. Evangelicalism is a movement unrelated to Evangelism, one which "preaches" patriotism as much as they preach the Gospel. It's based upon what I think is the mistaken idea of American Exceptionalism in relation to God, often with a heavy dose of Reconstructionism. In that video, note the giant US flag backdropping the stage and the guy who leaps up to cheer wearing a flag shirt.

Too many involved in that movement can't separate the Republican platform from faith, mostly because (In my experience) they are ignorant of scripture.

Fundamentalism is also a word which has been mischaracterized to the point that nobody knows what it really is any more. What is a "fundamentalist?" Simply someone who believes and practices the fundamentals of their faith. I would hope ALL Christians do that, wouldn't you? However, the word has gotten a bad reputation because it's been used to describe radical Muslims since at least 2001 and the meaning has been transferred to Christian's as well because many on the left use it as a weapon.
