Sure you can have your religious freedom. Just don't expect to get an easy ride when your faith makes no sense. You'll get no freedom from scrutiny no matter how loudly you complain. Don't like it? Then keep your religion private and out of everyone else's lives.

Government has no more right to force your rejection of religion down the throats of others than it does to compel you to embrace a belief system with which you disagree.
Funny thing about freedoms protected from government intervention.....they are intended to be protected by rather than imposed upon by government. Inconvenient as that may be to those that take exception to anyone that thinks differently from them that is one of the roles of government.

What I accept as true is true because it's supported by evidence. I noted the evidence earlier. The National Academy of Scientists accepts the evidence as fact. 1000s have tested, meased and examined the evidence that constitute the theory of evolution and all of come to the same conclusion.
You're trying to make a false equivalency. It's not working. Comparing one real scientific theory to any one of a 1000 superstitious beliefs is just asinine. Science should be taught in science classes because it's science not because I accept it.
One would think that in this day and age they would at least have accepted The Jefferson Bible as a more sensible approach to religion.

Without a doubt there are and have been individuals permitted in authority who held the flock in utter contempt vs it's true meaning describing the concept of stewardship before it was ever a word. Sadly, the former appears to be true of this current Papacy.

The 1st Amendment also protects people FROM religion. People don't need to be religious and it should not be forced on people. This is a democracy after all and not a theocracy.
I thought christians relationship with jesus was private? If it remained that way, there'd be nothing to pretend to protect.
