Return the favor by keeping your mockery of religion to yourself.
Government has no more right to force your rejection of religion down the throats of others than it does to compel you to embrace a belief system with which you disagree.

Funny thing about freedoms protected from government intervention.....they are intended to be protected by rather than imposed upon by government. Inconvenient as that may be to those that take exception to anyone that thinks differently from them that is one of the roles of government.

You're trying to make a false equivalency. It's not working. Comparing one real scientific theory to any one of a 1000 superstitious beliefs is just asinine. Science should be taught in science classes because it's science not because I accept it.
One would think that in this day and age they would at least have accepted The Jefferson Bible as a more sensible approach to religion.

Quote:
Discussions and letters between Jefferson and another friend, Philadelphia physician Benjamin Rush, led Jefferson to compile his "wee little book." In a letter to Rush on April 21, 1803, Jefferson said his editing experiment aimed to see whether the ethical teachings of Jesus could be separated from elements he believed were attached to Christianity over the centuries.

"To the corruption of Christianity I am indeed opposed," he wrote to Rush, "but not to the genuine precepts of Jesus himself."

Quote:
Stripping miracles from the story of Jesus was among the ambitious projects of a man with a famously restless mind. At 71, he read Plato's "Republic" in the original Greek and found it lackluster.

Ever the scientist, he inoculated his wife, children and many of his slaves against smallpox with fresh pus drawn from infected domestic farm animals, according to Robert C. Ritchie, W.M. Keck Foundation director of research at the Huntington Library.
Obviously Jefferson had more on the ball than modern day bible thumpers.

Make them knell before you, eat what is allegedly the body of a dead god out of your hand..They've made them sheep and it's very difficult to seperate from the flock when the delusion is so thick.
Without a doubt there are and have been individuals permitted in authority who held the flock in utter contempt vs it's true meaning describing the concept of stewardship before it was ever a word. Sadly, the former appears to be true of this current Papacy.

That said, if the only thing you knew about black folks was a 6 o'clock news perp walk, would you truly be informed about an entire race of people? OR, like all the other people who are normal & well adjusted, will never grace the presence of a camera or have their lives highlighted in any way because they're just too damned boring. Nice guys don't get media attention. Common decency doesn't get center stage in America-- not ever. People take it for granted, they use it and abuse it. They even spit in it's face lately. Look at how you've been conditioned to speak. Madison ave did this. Not the Church. Not atheists. But they sure are having a ball selling armament to both sides.

The reason I've been going around with you about this is because you, like many other atheists, cannot seem to discern a difference from rabid fundies and real religious. You need to bone up on the difference or find yourself on the wrong side of an argument being egged on by think tanks. Pay attention. Remember the principles involved. They count for far more than your life or mine.

I question who the perpetrators really are. It's a typical tactic of false religious. Don't convict too early.

BS. Someone who prints chicktracts/ watchtowers and standing on everyones doorstep pontificating like a dope- turnabout from atheists is fair play. Nothing about what they are doing is the exercise of a legitimate religion anymore than wackloon Evangelicals with delusions of grandeur hell bent on persecuting Americans through writ.

Most of the accusations coming from the mouths of false religious are a confession of their own malevolent conniving nonsense.

No one is at the courthouse on Sunday. That is where our rally will be held.
