Once a person has done their time and/or probation or parole and is staying out of trouble and contributing to society by working and paying their taxes they should be able to vote. That is my opinion of course. What do you think?

Here is a link to a page where one can pick the state to find out which states allow ex-felons to vote. There happens to be two states that allow people to vote while they are incarcerated.

As long as they are a citizen, they should be allowed to vote, just like anyone else.

No. They committed a felony. They cannot vote, they cannot own a fire arm, they cannot do a lot of things. That is one of the deterents to keep people from committing a felony. That's part of the punishment. If they want to vote, don't get slapped with a felony.

If you want to give that privelege back to them, then let's let them buy a gun if they want. Heck, let's just drop the sentence to nothing.

You can't strip people of their fundemental rights unless it poses a risk to others.

If that was the case, then our democracy is doomed. All it would take is corrupt DA and cops to prosecute innocent people of differing political views...

Never the less, it's the law. Commit a felony, you don't vote for life.

Democracy is doomed. People have no idea of what can happen and how things can be abused.

You need to learn the law then because there are very few states that don't allow ex-felons to vote. You are stating something that is not true and you need to learn things before you post such untruths.
