Most of the US is pretty boring. Europe, Australia, etc. are exciting. I wouldn't set foot in Kansas or Alabama.
Having traveled to many parts in the US I'd have to strongly disagree with that. As far as Kansas goes it's home to world's largest hand dug well. Joking aside most people never get off the Interstates and have the normal destinations, they don't know what they are missing.
Hawaii, Guam, Florida, NYC, Martha's Vineyard, New Orleans, South Padre Island, Los Angeles/California, Breckenridge CO, Vail CO, Aspen CO, Jackson Hole WY, Las Vegas, Washington DC, Chicago, etc.
There are plenty of vacation destinations in the US.
i think the objection is that it isn't freedom for the taxpayers.
i don't think one person would object to their choices if they were paying for any of their endless vacations themselves.
as americans continue to struggle, and the media and the white house act as if nothing is wrong, there will be resentment.
