I find this so upsetting I can hardly put it into words. How can you murder someone, much less a child, in broad daylight for no apparent reason than the color of his skin... then have the gall to claim self-defense to cover up your crime? That the local police department would buy your story without as much as an investigation is even more upsetting. Is this 1912 or 2012? Is this America or Somalia?

If Zimmerman doesn't get the death penalty or at least life without the possibility of parole, America will have lost apart of her conscience. Given the deliberate inaction of the local police department, it's encouraging to the see the FBI intervening. Let's see if justice is truly colorblind in this country.

Well I can't answer the poll since you didn't provide an option for "He should not receive the death penalty". I am anti-DP.

However if Zimmerman is charged and if he is convicted and if he receives the death penalty - he will be executed by means of lethal injection unless he chooses the electric chair - per current Florida law.

So - the question seem to be a moot one - wouldn't you agree?

It was caught on a 911 tape for crying out loud. It was obvious that he was profiling the kid because of his race. He even used a racial epithet during the call. The child was unarmed and posed no threat to him. The dispatcher told him not to pursue and he ran down the poor child and murdered him in cold blood. This is a clear cut case of murder with a recording to back it up.

Besides the child was in his own neighborhood heading to his house. Zimmerman saw that he was black and automatically assumes that he doesn't belong in that area. Zimmerman is a delusional hater who should never have been a neighborhood watchman much less own a gun.

I'd like to see him get a fair trial first, this is still America right?

I dunno about punishment yet, but it would be kinda nice if they did some sort of an investigation and then an evidence-based trial...just sayin. It's crazy, but it just might work.

The outcome of a fair trial in this case can only be the death penalty or life in imprisonment in my opinion. Anything short of that would be a miscarriage of justice. He clearly murdered the child because of how he looked and it was caught on tape. Hearing that kid scream for his life as this delusional idiot attack him send shivers down my spine.

If he is a "delusional idiot" doesn't that mean that he is legally insane and thus not eligible for execution?

Your opinion is worthless unless you're on the jury for his trial, this man deserves a fair trial just like anyone else would in this situation. You've already twisted enough of the details in your favor, there's no need to have another 50 page thread about this topic.
