City Council Warns ‘Crack Ho’ Comments ‘Intolerable’, Calls For Diversity In Talk Radio « CBS Los Angeles

Soooooo, on Los Angeles radio stations that play music with racist and sexist lyrics, it's okay and it's been okay for oh, at least the last 15 - 20 years but if you say it on talk radio, it's not okay. HYPOCRITES! Plus, they want to tell talk radio who they can and cant hire.

"The proposal cites a “long history of racially offensive comments as well as deplorable sexist remarks, particularly towards women and Black, Latino, and Asian communities” at KFI 640 and calls for parent company Clear Channel Communications and other broadcasters to hire a more diverse workforce to offset the trend."
Los Angeles City Council decided doing their JOB by ruling on city business wasn't in the scope of their authority and steps outside of their realm to pass judgment on local talk radio.

With schools failing, the city budget in CRISIS, and these kiss asses decided to "put their foot down" on local talk radio! Finally they all decided to show up to work and vote on something! Dennis Zine - your days in office are numbered, buddy! These city council persons are the same people who kiss the ring of the media including talk radio and then want to censor it?!?! They're all completely two-faced!!!!

They haven't got a shred of power to put their foot down on talk radio. It's the only forum that rational people have to vent their frustrations with how absurd life in Los Angeles and the state of California truly is.

They're ridiculous and make me want to vomit.

The Democrats' War Against Free Speech. They've been working for years to get Limbaugh and others like him off the airwaves.

"Free speech for me but not for thee."

Why do conservative/reactionaries believe that free speech is a one way street? They seem to think that they should be free to say whatever they like and no one else should have a right to say anything about it.

Note the OP: Call use when the City of California has the right, much less the power to censure any broadcast.

Just remember, when laws are made, the people that make them aren't always in charge.

When you have any government entity criticizing or condemning speech it should raise eyebrows. These people are not offering personal opinions.

As for this 'condemnation,' I'm not surprised. There's a reason I moved out of L.A., and eventually out of the state, and it's not because of the weather...
I used to listen to KSHE out of St.Louis and WQMF out of Louisville,Ky as a teen...a pack of idiots, but I LOVED the BS on both...if Mom wasn't around

Of course it is. And anyone with half a brain can figure out what the difference is, and why it's relevant.
