The Greeks should have paid more attention when Euro zone was formed and the opportuntiy gemany;netherlands and danish saw inadvanatge they gained in exporting to the rest of the euro.

Germany has always been the most advanced country in the world. The land of engineers, philosophers and musical geniuses. Bringing the Nazi stuff is pretty outdated nowadays. It has achieved a perfect balance between top industrial performance and welfare state.

In the Balkans, it was pretty much Tito and the Yugoslav partisans that did the fighting against the Germans. The Russians never got that far south and neither the USA nor the UK were engaged beyond 1940.
