If she's legally female its a human rights issue. And yes, you can change your gender or sex. XY or XX doesn't make you male or female, hormones and interaction with societal expectations makes you male or female. Some people with XY chromosomes grow up to be female in fact (androgen insensitivity).
Oh, really? That's novel. So, you are what you believe you are? A crossdresser becomes a female, because that's what he "looks like" and wants to be?
So, now I udnerstand the push for unisex rest rooms. Don't think it's gonna fly though. Too many of us still know there is a difference.
If the contest rules clearly state only genetic women then sure, they have the right as a private entity (unless Canada thinks otherwise, I don't know Canadian law), but it the rules do not state as much then I think the young lady in question may have a case against them.
This isn't a "young lady", and I think that 99.99% of the population when interpreting such rules understand that it is for "females", not someone who has had surgery to "look like" a female. That would be a reasonable interpretation.
I think it would be difficult to argue in a court of law that this is descrimination.
More insanity. No wonder the dam muslims despise the west. What is funny is the lefties who champion this nonsense love the muslims who want to kill em for this stuff. Go figure. LOL. What a bunch of lost souls.
That's putting it politely.
Their sole purpose in life is to attack and disrupt sensibilities wherever they exist throughout society. On reflection it prompts the question as to who the real lost souls are. The sick, sociopathic disrupters? Or the rest of us (collectively) who have let them push us to today's sad state of affairs?
Gender is more complex then that no matter how narrow minded you want to view things
No, it isn't. And to call how any reasonable person would view this, "narrow minded", is crossing over from reality to outer space. I would suggest getting help.
I don't understand why they couldn't just let her compete. She's been taking hormones since age fourteen, so from a purely biological perspective, she is NOT at ALL like a biological male OR female.
Socially and psychologically, she is a female, so she should be allowed to compete for contests open to women.
No one gets to decide what she identifies as, except her, so all the posters saying she is a man can stick to identifying their own sex and gender. Not your place, not anyone's but hers.
I think people need to get over their hang ups and just let other people be who they are.
