Depends if this is a global thing. Developed counties will have it rough with the rioting from no food or power. For third world counties, it will just be a day like any other day, so I will be in Honduras under a palm tree sipping a warm cerveza
It's probably a good idea (for survival during the anticipated civil unrest) for all anti-intellectual, bible-thumping, paranoid, gun-toting, white guys to gather in groups, form associations and make plans of what to do.
The list of essential underground bunker items should also include several cases of Bud Light, Toby Keith CDs, a library of Glenn Beck books...

If you wait till this supposed downfall of society happens you'll be too late,you'll probably be over run and killed in short order, you need to move far away from civilization as soon as possible and get fully established living off the land.
You might want to start taking some hints from this guy..
I think it is important to be prepared in case there is a mass breakdown in peaceful society. I've read that a store of food that can last three to five months is a good start.
--First Aid Kit
--10 changes of clothing (also off season clothing)
--A sturdy shelter that can withstand a mob of unruly folks attacking it
--Fresh water (at least 100 gallons)
--books (not "e-books" but real books)
--games (for the kids to take their minds off of their fear)
--shotguns (and plenty of shells)
Note: If guns are illegal where you live then scratch this off your list
--gold and silver bullion
What else should one consider to protect themselves from violent mobs who may be heading your one's way?
Crank flashlight/radio
Chlorine bleach- to purify water
collapsible poly water bags
salt, honey, misc seasonings
Coffee!

Black tea
And on and on........................
The Mormons have been doing this for years, a 1 year supply of food & sundries is a tenet of the church.
