An interesting snippet from a scholarly paper (emphases mine):

"Rural sprawl can be understood as a demographic manifestation of conservative America’s rejection of the social and economic movements of the 1960s. Much of this rejection involved chastising urban centers and solidifying political bases in the suburbs. However, like the movement to escape core cities during the 1950s and 60s, the last three decades have seen a shift by many of conservative America’s members to remove themselves further from core cities and even abandoned suburbs that once seemed to them like the ultimate place of freedom, away from liberal ideas and people"

Moderate..very rural.

The living is cheap and easy here, the folks are good people,LOTS of family and friends, lakes are everywhere around me,two major rivers within just a few miles, mild winters(horrible humid summers though)...I just like it here.

End of story.

I'm libertarian and prefer the city and inner ring suburbs.

I'm a Republican but I like rural areas that have close access to large cities.

I just want to clarify first off that I had made a similar thread about a year ago. I made a mistake not adding "Moderates" to the poll and I wanted to take the opportunity to try this poll once again to get much more clear, balanced, and varied opinions.

most of the population centers such as cities tend to vote democrat. while all the acreage and small town USA tend to vote republican.

if the electoral college was 1 vote per county in the USA, then no democrat would ever get elected to potus.

I'm a common sense moderate. I live in the city, enjoy the country and was raised in the suburbs.
