This means he is gone from Congress of coasre as the tea party for the most part wants zimmerman to walk free(not surprising) but at least he stood up this time and for that I applaud him and I am shocked.

Those were my thoughts when I first heard about all this last week. However, once I started hearing more about the incident, I realized I was wrong and I had jumped the gun. It was easy to get outraged at the time when it looked like such an open and shut case but clearly its not.

If West still feels this way, then I strongly disagree. Wait for the official report. We dont need to be like Enemy, Sharpton, Jackson, MSNBC, Spike Lee, Obama and others and fan the flames and call for someones head when we dont know what happened.

I agree. I have a great deal of respect for West, for his service to this country and for his intellegence. As the news of this incident was first reported, I felt the same as you. As the facts are slowly coming out, my opinion is changing. I hope West has the integrity to revise his and issue a different statement as he learns more about the acts that took place.

While I often disagree with Allen West politically, I've always had a ton of respect for him.

West said that eight days ago, before the other eyewitnesses made their testimony public that they had seen Trayvon attack Zimmerman and beat him as he (Zimmerman) lay on the ground.

Are you going to wait another eight days from now, to tell us what West's new reaction to hearing those eyewitness' testimony was?

The point is .. West and every other 'Talking Head' Should have said .. "I have no facts on what happened, except for what the Race Baiting Networks are spouting so .. Instead of looking like a complete moron and puppet of the Sharptons and J-a-c-k-s-o-n-s of the world .. I will keep my Big Mouth shut .. 'Until' I have some 'facts' to comment on"!

See how easy that is?

I'm shocked West isn't demagoguing against blacks as usual, I think this could hurt him among his right wing fanbase, rednecks who only like servile black men who hate other black people like Clarence Thomas. Shocked he'd go against his people like that, especially since a sensible reaction would be "let law enforcement do their job".

I think MOST Americans...not you left wing loons who have already decided that Zimmerman is guilty and should go directly to jail without passing GO....would like to wait and see what the investigation shows. That is plain old common sense...something that liberals seem to be completely lacking in.

Once again, I wish the media would stop talking about this case already as though Trayvon is and has been the ONLY person shot unarmed or that Zimmerman is the ONLY person who has targeted someone. The whole thing is one big friggin' mess and is TRAGIC, but it ISN'T even CLOSE to being the ONLY case similar.
