All I have to say is.... WOW!!!!

This coming from a Supreme Court Justice.

Quote:
Ruth Bader Ginsburg:
“People who don’t participate in this market are making it much more expensive for the people who do; that is, they will get, a good number of them will get services that they can’t afford at the point where they need them, and the result is that everybody else’s premiums get raised? It’s not your free choice just to do something for yourself. What you do is going to affect others, affect them in a major way.”

Wow? That's basic economics.

People who can't afford to go to the doctor will often go to the emergency room, the second most expensive area of the hospital in terms of direct costs. Instead of clinics or doctors offices, which are fairly cheap. If those people can't pay the money still needs to come from somewhere, by increasing prices to other patients. Those patients pay higher co-pays and premiums because of it.

A 10 year old should be able to reason through this without difficulty.

I thought you were against choices that made other people bear the cost?

Isn't that why you live in a society?

Excellent insight into the Liberal Brain. If there ever was any doubt about the persistence of the diseased mind, this should clear it up.

It also shows that liberals are willing to substitute $$$$$$$ in places where they find the Constitution inconvenient.

I appreciate this wildly accurate expose' into liberal thinking. It makes it that much easier to understand how screwed up they really are.

Let me say this if government provides the service there should be no free riders. When you give up responsibility you give up rights.

Seen this attributed to both Gerald Ford and Barry Goldwater.

"A government powertful enough to give you everything you need is powerful enough to take everything you have."

And yet you're opposed to the individual mandate. Do you understand yet how & why that was Republican brainchild?

No surprise as Ginsberg is no fan of the US Constitution to begin with...........

“I would not look to the U.S. Constitution, if I were drafting a Constitution in the year 2012. I might look at the Constitution of South Africa,” says Ginsburg, whom President Clinton nominated to the court in 1993. “That was a deliberate attempt to have a fundamental instrument of government that embraced basic human rights, had an independent judiciary. … It really is, I think, a great piece of work that was done. Much more recent than the U.S. Constitution.”

That is very telling on how we got away from the freest nation in the world, to be just like the rest.
