Medicare for all.

I'm so sick of the f*ck-em attitude. People would seriously rather not have a single cent of theirs going to any program that may benefit the country as a whole because responsibility. I suppose it is pretty easy and convenient, though, because it requires no caring, thinking, problem solving, or innovation. It's truly sad that so many people seemingly want stagnation or, even worse, regression for this country.

Every one that I have known from Canada would come to Florida in the winter but if they got sick they would be heading back home.

We have, according to the World Health Organization, the most expensive system in the world, but our quality of care is 37th by their measure. We have millions who have no care at all. A chronic illness often means bankruptcy in the US. It is a national disgrace.

You two couldn't be more wrong. The senior Senator (Republican) from my state, also a long-time personal friend and former neighbor, introduced Senate Bill 1783 to reform health care coverage before Obama had taken office. But if you'll recall, when Obama took office the Democrats enjoyed some veto-proof majorities, and what Obama and Pelosi wanted was exactly what they'd settle for and nothing less. If you happened to have an R after your name, it didn't matter what you thought. Health care reform had to be born from the Democratic Party. Had it not been that way, we could all be enjoying some measure of reform today without threat of it throwing the nation into bankruptcy.

Hard to believe. I've also talked to Canadians about their health care. I'm told they can't get tests at all or have to wait for several months to have tests done. If their health is good, they're happy with it, but if they need something... that's another story.

I also have a long-time doctor friend who moved here from Canada in the mid-70s. (Thank you Canucks.) He was a valued MD in our community for more than 30 years until his recent retirement. He couldn't live with Canada's socialized medicine red tape -- and tell his patients that he couldn't help them when it was the government system that refused them. At least that's what he told me. He's always been a reasonable man, an honest man, a good doctor, and I have no reason to think he lied to me.

You can say this with an honest face and talk about responsibility?

How ignorant....Responsibility means taking care of yourself, not me taking care of your responsibility.

Why bother with that one payer system line. It has zero overall support in either party after Clinton's Hillary plan fell apart when he was president. It certaqinly makes o sense fiscally when you have 50% there about who pay no federal atxes at all. Unafforable when no one wants to pay fopr it incldng liberals. They avoided paying like the pleague. That si the problem in greece and others and their facing real problems for decades to come.Geramny and other who made cuts i 90's are doing fine and with their work ethic and willigness to carry part of the loas across the public its workig so far. many want to pay nothing and get it free like greece in US. Too many supported by too few does not work.

Now you are describing Harry Reid's tenure as Senate Majority leader and his refusal to pass any budget since Obama's been in office. That is the epitome of stagnation and regression of this country. Winning!

As long as Congress and this POTUS spend without regard to the taxpayer there will be no $$ for any healthcare reform. Obamacare is a $17 Trillon trainwreck about to happen according to the CBO's latest reports.

No, what we want is a healthcare system that won't bankrupt the country and/or its citizens, or force them to start coming up with $$$ out of their own pockets after the subsidies expire in 2019, as IBD reported recently.

That will ensure Obama's uncontested designation as the worst POTUS in our history; his 'reputation' will rank right up there with any other crooked, militant, arrogant Illinois politician you care to name, as well as tons of them from numerous other states.
